Operation We Care getting help from local girl scouts to fill care boxes for troops
FRUITLAND, Md.- A Maryland girl scouts troop recently helped Operation We Care fill and pack boxes for troops overseas.
Operation We Care has been sending care packages to troops for 13 years now.
The Founder and President of the organization said this year they’ve had to do things a little differently because of the pandemic.
For instance, they can’t have a large number of people helping to pack the boxes at one time.
Also, they are packing a smaller number of boxes.
So, when the community steps up to help them, like the Girl Scouts did, it makes a world of difference.
“We kind of reinvent things at least for this year and hopefully next year we’ll be back in the game again, but I’m really proud of our community the community has really stepped up, they’ve always supported us,” Jeff Merritt, President and Founder of Operation We Care, said.
The boxes packed will be shipped out early next week and the troops will receive the boxes just in time for Christmas.
