Golden Retriever Club of America hosts tracking competition

The 2017 Golden Retriever Club of America's National Specialty is in full swing. A competition in Pemberton Park on Sunday allowed some of the retriever’s to show off their tracking skills.
Golden retriever owners said they begin training their dogs at just a few months old for the tracking competition.
Organizers said in a way, the tracking competition serves as a warm up for the rest of the week. Clayton Kilraine, the Chairman of the tracking competition, said, “Tracking is usually the first event at the beginning of the week usually. It’s once a year, they have the National at different places around the country and tracking is usually the leading event.”
If you are interested in watching golden retrievers compete, or even just interested in petting some retrievers, you can make your way out to the Crown Center in Fruitland or the Civic Center in Salisbury this week.
