Day two: Schools fall victim to electronic bomb threats

Concerned parents and state police stood in front of Millsboro Middle School on Tuesday. They were just one of the many schools in Delaware to receive a bomb threat.
David Maull, the Indian River School District PIO says, “It appeared to be a robotic call similar to the other ones that occurred recently.”
This is the second school in the Indian River District to receive the threat. There were more than ten on Monday in schools in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Several more got that robotic call Tuesday, like the Woodbridge Early Childhood Education Center and Beacon Middle in Lewes.
Maull says, “We put the building on lockdown so all the kids were in their classrooms and not able to access the hallways.”
Police did a sweep of the entire building with bomb sniffing dogs and found nothing. However, that didn’t stop folks like Keshora Garrison from driving over to pick up her two sixth graders.
Garrison says, “It’s scary I can only imagine how they feel, especially with what’s going on yesterday and now today. I know they’ve got to be scared.”
Garrison admits she and her kids have heard of threats like this and never took them seriously, until now.
Garrison says, “Just to actually have it happen here while they’re here is a different story.”
Thankfully it was no more than a threat. Millsboro Middle actually managed to serve lunch on time. However, officials say you never know.
Maull goes on, “You have to take all necessary precautions in situations like this and do just everything we can possibly do to make sure our kids are safe.”
Each agency is individually investigating these threats and is forwarding all of their information to the FBI.
Police say the person, or person’s responsible for these threats will face felony terroristic threatening charges. Right now, they also don’t have any suspects. Anyone with information should call authorities right away.
