Salisbury Mayor promoted to Major in U.S. Army

SALISBURY, Md. – Congratulations are in order for Salisbury Mayor Jake Day after he was promoted to the rank of major in the U.S. Army.

Mayor Day is currently deployed in Djibouti in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and has been overseas for a few months now. At 8:00 East Africa Time on Saturday, Mayor Day was promoted to the rank of major in a ceremony attended by several army leaders and some dignitaries. His family was also able to be part of the ceremony via Zoom.

Mayor Day is scheduled to return to the Eastern Shore in May of next year.
