101 Dominations: SU Hangs A Century On S. Virginai

The Salisbury University women’s basketball’s team offense clicked on all cylinders Saturday afternoon as they defeated Southern Virginia 101-50. The 101 points was the most scored by SU since 2004, while the win improves the Sea Gulls to 9-6 on the year and 5-3 in conference play.
SU would jump out to a monster lead as Julia McLaughlin and Lauren Rothfeld would both find their way into the scoring column. The Gulls would be up 28-14 after the first and watch the lead continue to grow in the second quarter. Mary McDonagh would add a couple baskets down low as she would work her way into double digits with 11 points. SU would out-score the Knights 31-4 in that quarter and take a huge lead into halftime. The Gulls were chasing history in the second half as they continued to add points to the scoreboard. With under a minute to go, the Gulls were sitting at 98 points when Aprile Preller would pull the trigger from the top of the key and put it home for the games final points.
Salisbury returns to work Wednesday when they host Marymount.
