Hot Start Powers SU Past S. Virginia

The Salisbury University men’s basketball team picked up a conference win Saturday night when they defeated Southern Virginia 67-52. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 12-3 on the year, and 5-3 in conference play.
The Sea Gulls jumped out to a quick lead in the game as seemingly everyone had it going. Justin Witmer opened the game with a dunk, then followed it with a 3 ball. Then Kyle Savercool would drill a couple long balls of his own, as would Rocky Harris. The lead would quickly swell to over 20 before the Knights finally found their footing. Kevin Walker would then try and shoot his team back into the game, connecting on 4 threes. But SU just kept on coming. Gordon Jeter would add a couple buckets from the post, as they would close it out for the win.
Salisbury returns to work on Wednesday when they host Marymount.
