Local organizations to host DACA workshop

After President Donald Trump's decision to end a federal program that shields thousands of young undocumented immigrants from deportation organizations here on Delmarva have been rallying to help DACA recipients renew their permits before they expire.
The latest to help is the ACLU of Maryland, and they're teaming up with other local organizations to host a DACA and immigration workshop this weekend.
We're told immigration attorneys will be present to answer immigration questions and help DACA recipients who are looking to renew their permit before they expire. The event and legal advice are free. However for those looking to renew their DACA permit there is a $495 fee from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
"We are hoping to assist quite a few individuals to renew their documentation before the deadline," says Leila Borrero, an Immigration Specialist with the Comite De Apoyo A Los Trabajadores Agricolas (C.A.T.A.).
The event will take place Saturday, September 23rd at Salisbury University from 10 AM to 3 PM at Guerrieri Academic Commons, Room 462.
