High tides lead to evacuations

Flooding in the Indian River area of Delaware has forced over 50 people to be evacuated from their homes officials say.

As of earlier this evening, at least 25 people have been transported to Sussex Central High School where they are taking shelter.

We’re told that winds at the Indian River Inlet Bridge have remained steady at 50 mph with wind gusts up to 75 mph.

Officials say there is no immediate danger in the area.

However if you find yourself in need of evacuation to call 911.
