Cause of garage fire in Denton, under investigation

The cause of a fire at a detached garage in Denton, is under investigation.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire started around 2:45 PM on Sunday, at a one story detached garage on Burrsville Road. After a passerby discovered the blaze, 22 firefighters reportedly responded from Denton Volunteer Fire Department, and had the flames under control in about a half hour.

Officials say where the blaze started, and just what caused it, remain under investigation. Damages are estimated to total $80,000.
