Easton traffic stop leads to chase; suspect wanted

Police are searching for a wanted man, after they say he hit an officer with a vehicle during a traffic stop, and got away from police during a chase, in Easton.

The Easton Police Department says on Friday, at 9:00 AM, officers attempted to pull over a a vehicle, in Easton, that was driven by 40-year-old Tony Murray, of Preston. Murray was reportedly wanted in Talbot County and Caroline County.

During the traffic stop, the officer apparently approached the vehicle and requested that Murray turn off the vehicle. According to the report, Murray refused the officer's commands and then hit the officer with the vehicle. The officer did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

Police say Murray then fled the scene which prompted a chase. Authorities report that the chase ended off of Chapel Road and Gannon Road, where Murray was able to get away from law enforcement. An arrest warrant was apparently obtained for this incident and remains on file at the Easton Police Department.

According to Easton PD, the 40-year-old frequently drives a 2008 Gray Ford Escape with Maryland registration 4CK4257.
