Change of cast at MarVa theater

Protesters showed up Tuesday night in hopes that their presence would help Kathryn Redden retain her seat on the board of directors for MarVa Theathre in Pocomoke City, Md. However they left with no satisfaction.
Redden had been on the board of directors for the theatre for over fifteen years, however after her most recent two-year term expired, we’re told she received a letter saying she would be dismissed.
Tuesday night at the board meeting Redden hoped to be voted back on to the board, but ultimately she fell one vote short.
“We did our best to let the board know how we felt tonight… I guess that message fell on deaf ears,” said protest organizer Matt Gillis.
The board declined to comment as to why Redden was voted out because it was a personnel matter, however they did say that her services were valued.
Protesters say Redden was vital to the theater’s live production of plays and that they question the success live theater will have in her absence.
Members of the board tell 47 ABC that despite this, they are excited for all the great events they have planned this year for the theater.
