Homicide in Horntown under investigation, one dead

Law enforcement in Accomack County say they are investigating a homicide.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office says just after midnight on Thursday, Deputies responded to a home on Raymond Townsend Lane in Horntown, for reports of a shooting. Once on scene, Investigators say they found 22-year-old Robert Baytops IV, of Horntown, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound outside of the home.

Baytops was then apparently rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, where he later died. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is on-going.
