Woodlin’s winner lifts Dover over Smyrna

Dover senior forward Terrance Woodlin swished a baseline fadeaway as time expired to push the Senators over Smyrna 48-47 on Saturday afternoon in Dover.
The Senators held a 22-20 lead at the half, but quickly found themselves down early in the third after Smyrna went on a 14-7 run. The Eagles would hold a 37-36 lead entering the fourth.
Smyrna would lead for much of the fourth quarter, including holding a 47-46 lead with the ball and 20 seconds remaining. After Eagles guard Charlie Taylor missed the front end of a one and one, Dover called a timeout with nine seconds left in the game. Out of the timeout, Dover’s Steven Justice drove left and kicked to Michael Douglas. Douglas’ three point attempt was long, but senior forward Terrance Woodlin scooped up the rebound and burried a baseline jumper well before the buzzer sounded for the win.
The win is Dover’s eighth straight. The Senators will try for number nine at Cape next Tuesday, while Smyrna visits Polytech.
