Sea Gulls Get Their Revenge, Roll Past Wesley

The Salisbury University women’s basketball team picked up a conference win Wednesday night when they earned a series split with their rivals Wesley 76-64. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 11-11 on the year, while the loss drops the Wolverines to 5-17.
The Sea Gulls came out of the gate and would quickly build a nice lead. Julia McLaughlin would be able to find the bottom of the net a few times as she would finish with a game high 22 points. The Wolverines would finally find their footing, led by Alexus Strud. She would convert on 7 of her 12 shots from the floor for the Wolverines as they clawed their way back into the game. SU then used a big second quarter to take a sizable lead into half time. Mary McDonagh would connect on a couple threes as SU would be up 10 at the break. Wesley continued to battle in the second half, getting a double digits from Tiyanna Gibbs, but it wasn’t enough as SU would go on to close out the game.
SU returns to work on Saturday when they travel to Southern Virginia, while Wesley travels to Frostburg on Saturday.
