Wicomico Co. to hold Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County residents will have the chance to dispose of hazardous household waste for free later this month.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be held on Saturday, October 24th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Newland Park Landfill. The event is open to residents of Wicomico County and participants should bring a valid proof of residence such as a driver’s license.

The Landfill will be accepting a list of items, including gasoline, bleach, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, paint thinner, painting products, pesticides, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, household smoke detectors, and more.

Business industrial or commercial farm waste, ammunition, radioactive material, asbestos, explosives, medical waste, and tires will NOT be accepted.
