Several Tawes Nursing Home residents test positive for COVID-19

Corona 2

CRISFIELD, Md. – Tawes Nursing Home officials say several residents have recently contracted COVID-19.

We’re told the residents’ family members are being kept up to date on their loved ones’ condition. Those who have contracted the virus are being kept in isolation from the nursing home’s other, non-infected residents, to help prevent spread.

In addition, the nursing home is continuing to practice enhanced safety precautions, including frequent screening and testing of every staff member and resident for symptoms, a no-visitation policy, enhanced levels of personal protective equipment, and thorough, deep cleaning of facilities.

TidalHealth released a statement, saying “The safety of our residents and staff is our top priority and we will continue to follow the recommendations and guidance of our state and local health officials. While we are disappointed that we were unable to keep COVID-19 out of our facility 100 percent, we want to assure the community that our staff is working tirelessly to keep everyone in our community safe, to care for and support all of our residents, and to stop any additional cases from happening.”
