UPDATE: three injured following Smyrna crash

Members of the Delaware State Police say three people were taken to the hospital following a serious crash along Route 1 on Friday evening.
According to State Police, Elizabeth Gray, 34 of Dover was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu along Route 1 southbound, south of Exit 119. For unknown reasons, Troopers say Gray drove into the center median and then into the northbound lanes where she struck a 2011 Chevrolet Cruz nearly head-on.
The 24-year-old driver of the Cruz and her 18-year-old passenger were both reportedly properly restrained, police say, and were both transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say Gray, who was also properly restrained, was originally transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, before she was airlifted and admitted to Christiana Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
State Police say Gray was cited for Careless Driving and No Proof of Insurance.
Parts of Route 1 were reportedly shut down for 90 minutes during the course of the investigation.
