Nanticoke Health collecting cards for National Thank a Police Officer Day

One local hospital is going to the extra mile to thank those in the line of duty.

For "Thank a Police Officer Day", Nanticoke Memorial Hospital will be collecting thank you cards for officers in the area.

"Thank A Police Officer Day" is a national event taking place on September 16th.

One of the nurses working in the cancer care came up with the idea to get involved with this project.

They decided thank you cards from the community was a great way to support police departments in their service area, both state police and local.

This is their first year doing this project. If you want, you can address the card to a specific police department if you'd like, they're accepting drop offs until September 13th.

Administrators are going to go to several of the departments and hand deliver these thank you's on the15th.

They will have a box in their Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, as well as their Georgetown and Laurel Nanticoke Immediate Care Centers.
