Woman found dead in Princess Anne apartment

State Police in Princess Anne say they are conducting a death investigation, after a woman was found dead in an apartment.

The Maryland State Police say on Thursday around 7:20 PM, Troopers responded to apartment 6A in Brocket Square, in Princess Anne, for a death investigation.

Once on scene, Police say they found 44-year-old Margaret Kersey, dead in the apartment. Investigators say a second person was also found in the apartment, unresponsive, and was rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, for treatment.

Police say Kersey’s body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy. Authorities say the primary heat source in the residence was a kerosene heater. The cause of death is pending their report.

Police say they have not ruled out Carbon Monoxide poisoning in their initial investigation.
