SAT being offered for free to Wicomico Co. students

School officials in Wicomico County say, they will be given the SAT to students at no cost next month.
According to the Wicomico County Public School System, the test is being offered to all high school juniors as part of assessing their readiness for college and career prior to registration for senior year. The test is set to take place on Wednesday, March 2. Officials say students taking the test should report to school at the normal time.
All high school juniors must take the SAT prior to registration for the senior year. High school juniors who have previously taken the SAT during the 2015-2016 school year and have received math and verbal scores of 500 or higher are exempt from the test. However, those student may opt to take the SAT on that day if they wish.
Students who score below 500 on the math and/or verbal portion of the SAT will then be required to participate in supplemental coursework during the senior year, as will any students who do not take the SAT prior to registering for their senior year.
In case of a delayed opening or closing on March 2:
1-hour delay: The SAT would go forward in the morning once SAT takers have arrived after a 1-hour delay.
2-hour delay or school closed: The SAT administration would not take place on March 2 and would instead be administered on the College Board’s SAT make-up day, April 27.
