Lady Hawks hold off feisty Hornets

The UMES Lady Hawks won their fifth game in a row, to move to 9-6 in the MEAC and complete a regular season sweep of their conference rivals, defeating Delaware State 54-49 on Saturday afternoon.

Cyani Byrom paced UMES once again, scoring a team-high 19 points, while pulling down 7 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists. Taryana Kelly was the only other Hawk in double figures, finishing with 11 points and eight boards. Micah Aldridge led the Lady Hornets with 10 points.

The Lady Hawks are back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Morgan, while DSU hosts Hampton on Monday.
