Ellendale man arrested for heroin distribution in Lincoln

An Ellendale man is facing charges, after Police say he was involved with distributing heroin.
The Delaware State Police Sussex County Governor’s Task Force says on Monday around 8:15 PM, the GTF was working on a an active heroin distribution investigation, involving 39-year-old Shyron Floyd. Police say they received a tip that Floyd was staying at a home on North Old State Road near Lincoln. He was apparently also wanted on three capiases out of Sussex County courts.
According to the report, when Troopers and Probation and Parole Officers assigned to the task force arrived at the residence, they saw Flyod standing outside. Police say as soon as he saw them, Floyd ran into a wooded area near the house. Law enforcement says they immediately followed, giving numerous commands to stop, before releasing a State Police K9, who successfully apprehended Floyd, without further incident.
Police searched the area where Floyd ran, and say they found 102 bags of heroin, totaling 1.53 grams. Shyron Floyd, who apparently refused any medical attention for minor abrasions that he got while fleeing through the woods, was taken back to Troop 4 in Georgetown.
There, he was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a controlled substance – heroin, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Floyd was then detained on a $20,000 secured bond, at the Sussex Correctional Center.
