Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club hosts students during remote learning

SEAFORD, Del. – The Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club is now offering space for students who are participating in remote learning this school year.

The Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club says they have enough space to accommodate 150 students.

They say teachers at the Seaford School District will be tutoring students and breakfast and lunch will be served there as well.

The organization says they will also be doing temperature checks for students when they come in.

They say the community needs support right now so that’s why they’re stepping up.

“As most of our community here they work very hard and so, in order for us to provide this service was imperative,” said Melissa Oskels, family school community engagement specialist with the 21st Century CCLC at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club.

“So, we’ll be able to help facilitate getting them onto their school work and helping to make sure that they at least start it and they’re attending school,” said Oskels.

Oskels says there’s still space available for students who want to do online learning at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club.
