Man killed in Harrington industrial accident
HARRINGTON, Del. – Delaware State Police say a man was killed in an industrial accident in Harrington Monday morning.
Troopers responded to the 12000 block of Pin Oak Lane at around 10:20 a.m. Further investigation revealed that the victim was cutting down a tree branch when the branch snapped and hit the boom lift in which the victim was standing in. The victim subsequently fell out of the bucket and approximately 40 feet to the ground.
The 59-year-old male victim was taken to the Sussex Bayhealth Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
The incident remains under investigation.
