Police conduct theft investigation in Ocean City

Police say that they are conducting a theft investigation after an incident last Saturday in Ocean City.

According to Ocean City Police, last Saturday at 1:38 PM, officers responded to ACME on 94th Street for the report of a theft. Employees said that a suspect placed a large meat order and had not paid for it.

The same suspect reportedly placed a large order of meat the day before as well and did not pay for that order either. Officers learned that the total value of the meat order that was not paid for at the time of the investigation was $3,000.

At this time, the investigation is still open and charges have not been filed; however, they are likely expected. Police say that once charges have been filed, the suspect will be identified.
