Police: Woman bites daughter during argument, resists arrest

1280 Dixon Assault

SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury woman was arrested Friday night after she reportedly bit her daughter during an argument and assaulted a deputy while resisting arrest.

Just after 9 p.m., Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of Beaglin Park Drive for a reported altercation. It was learned that 48-year-old Marcelene Dixon and her adult daughter had gotten into an altercation that turned physical when Dixon bit her daughter on the arm. The deputy observed indications of physical injury as a result of the bite.

During the investigation, police say Dixon appeared intoxicated and was uncooperative with the deputies. The deputy tried to place Dixon under arrest, but she struggled and tried to pull away from the deputy. After being handcuffed, the deputy tried to assist Dixon into the patrol vehicle, but she reportedly continued to physically resist and tried physically forcing herself back into the residence. At one point, Dixon shoved her shoulder into the deputy’s chest, which drove the deputy back into a wall. With the assistance of a second deputy, she was placed into the vehicle.

Dixon was charged with second degree assault, second degree assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest. She was later released on an unsecured bond.
