2017 Solar Eclipse Viewing Parties List

On Monday, August 21st a total solar eclipse will cross the United States. Below you'll find a list of viewing parties in the Delmarva area. To have your party added, email newsroom@47abc.com.

DELAWARE:

Sussex County:
Frankford Public Library
8 Main Street

• Three dozen glasses are available. Officials are hoping that if more people show up, viewers will share the glasses.
• There will be a previewing explanation
• The viewing party will be from 1-3 p.m. The viewing will be on a grassy lot adjacent to the library. This will be free and open to the public.
• People are welcome to bring their dogs and blankets.

Seaford Library

• The viewing party will be from 2pm-4pm
• There will be a sign-up sheet for glasses. There are 200 glasses and they are free.
• People are asked to sign up a week before the event.
• Activities for the event are currently unclear. The team librarian is supposed to have a meeting later this month to discuss those details.
• The party is open to everyone and viewing will be towards the back of the library lot.

Milton Library

• People will not have to register.
• The time of the party is unclear.

MARYLAND:

• Officials have ordered glasses and people will be able to view the eclipse from the lawn at 2pm.
•  People should bring blankets and chairs. The party is free and open to the public.

Somerset County:
Crisfield Library

• The viewing party will be at 2:00 p.m. and the party is open to the public and free
• People will have to register for the event because there are only solar glasses for the first 40 people.

Wicomico County:
People can view the Eclipse at the Wicomico County Library

12-2:30 p.m.
• A Salisbury University professor will be at the viewing to explain the eclipse to people.
• People are told not look directly at the sun. At 2pm, people will go outside to practice viewing.
• This is open to the public and it is free to everyone.
• There will be a pre-event on July 25th where the library will feature another professor. The program is the science, myths and legends event. There will be light hors de oeuvres.
• This program is a part of a NASA ay my libraries event. There will be different events at the library for the next few years along with different NASA program. The best time to see the eclipse is around 2:20pm.

Worcester County:
