Tips for Staying Safe During Severe Weather

Officials with the National Weather Service are urging motorists to take extra precautions on roadways today. 

Several inches of water are expected to cover area roads as a storm system featuring dangerously strong winds and heavy rains continues to move across Delmarva. 

And that's why Officials at the Wakefield Branch of the National Weather Service are cautioning drivers to be on the lookout for pools of water. 

Officials with the National Weather Service are urging motorists to take extra precautions on roadways today.

"The key thing is if you see running water going across the road, do not drive over it. There is a very good chance that the water has eroded the ground, underneath the rode, and there may not be a road to drive on," says Meteorologist Bridget DeRosa of the National Weather Service.
