SALISBURY, Md. – On Sunday, the organization Snacks for the Heart held its first Popsicles in the Park Event at the Salisbury City Park, and it was all for a good cause.

The event gave kids a chance to enjoy free popsicles to cool off from the hot weather.

Different sports organizations participated in the event as well.

Event organizers say their goal is to help kids stay healthy and active.

They say they want to help families that have lost their jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic as well.

“There are many children that do not have food, snacks, water, different things,” said event organizer, Heather Stillwell.

“Keeping everyone healthy, getting everyone together, going on a nice walk and just bring the community together more,” said Stillwell.

Organizers say they hope to make Popsicles in the Park an annual event for the community.
