Officials: Woman injured after car crashes into corn field in Pittsville

Police say that a woman was injured after her car ran off the road into a corn field in Pittsville on Thursday morning.

According to the Pittsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to a crash on 11:41 a.m. on Old Ocean City Road after a woman lost control of her car and it ran into a corn field.

Officials say that the woman was rescued from the vehicle and taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for non life threatening injuries. Maryland State Police investigated the crash.

The road was closed for thirty minutes.
