Project Sparkle On organizes candlelight vigil for peace and prayer

LAUREL, Del. – In Laurel, a group of kids is pushing to help bring change to the community with a candlelight vigil for peace and prayer.
The event is scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Market Square Park and is being led by the group Project Sparkle On.
Guest speakers include Jeremiah Isaac Burns from the group L.I.G.H.T and the founder of Project Sparkle On Layla Gainer.
Organizers tell us the candlelight is a chance to talk about love and unity and help bring change.
“So, our goal is to come out and promote one love and unity and pray for peace for our kids because if we start now with them today maybe we’ll see real change tomorrow,” said the mother of Layla Gainer, Jessica Gainer.
Organizers say the event will start at 8 PM and they are asking that people bring only flameless candles and community members are expected to wear masks.
