Local high schooler places in lamb show at State Fair

The Delaware State Fair can sometimes be a place of firsts. And on Tuesday, that's what it was for one high schooler who showed lambs for the first time.
Sherri Jackson is from Felton, Delaware and she's an upcoming senior at Lake Forest High School competed for the first time Tuesday in an event where many start training when they're just little kids.
At Lake Forest, the students help sheep give birth and then help raise the lambs.
Jackson and her lamb Clay took third place Tuesday in the 17-year-old age group. Jackson said she wasn't sure if she was going to compete, but her teacher urged her to do it.
47 ABC asked if she was nervous and Jackson replied, "I was yeah, at first I wasn't because I was like it's my first show, but then I got nervous like when I got in line because I didn't think he was going to walk."
Jackson says she doesn't think Clay was nervous though and was quite proud of him after the event.
She said she's not 100 percent sure if she'll compete again next year, but she thinks her teacher will convince her.
