Officials: Man suffers burn injuries in Chestertown boat fire

Officials say that a man suffered burn injuries after a boat accident in Chestertown on Friday evening.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, on Friday at 7:26 p.m., 18 firefighters responded to Fey Road in Chestertown for a burn injury. Officials say that a victim injured his back and sustained minor burns to his face. He was subsequently flown to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital for treatment.
Deputies say that the estimated loss of the boat was $1,000. The fire took about 24 minutes to control and the origin of the fire was in the stern of the 1997 Maycraft Vessel.
Officials say that the accidental fire was a result of an open flame along with fuel vapors inside the haul of the boat.
