Deputies: Crack cocaine found during Salisbury traffic stop; one charged

An individual is in custody after police say over 40 bags of crack cocaine were found during a traffic stop, in Salisbury. 

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says on Monday, the Community Action Team (CAT) pulled over a vehicle in the 400 block of North Salisbury Boulevard. Deputies say 54-year-old Briggett Wendell Ellis, of Salisbury, was inside the vehicle during the traffic stop. 

According to the report, a Wicomico County Sheriff's Office K-9 scanned the vehicle which prompted a search. Authorities report that they found 44 bags of crack cocaine which weighed approximately 15 grams. Ellis was also reportedly in possession of $810 in cash and two cell phones.

The 54-year-old was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of crack cocaine. 

Ellis was then turned over to the Wicomico County Detention Center.
