Two Somerset Co. students named Carson Scholars

SOMERSET CO., Md. – Two students in Somerset County were just named 2020 Carson Scholars.

We’re told that Carter G. Woodson Elementary 5th grader Zachary Gunter and Washington High School and Academy 11th grader Ashawnti Buckner were nominated by their teachers to win the award. The students were nominated for having a minimum GPA of 3.75 and humanitarian qualities. The Carson fund awards them each a $1,000 college scholarship.
