1280 Maner

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wor-Wic Community College staff, students, and family are mourning the loss of their founding president.

The first ever president of the school, Dr. Arnold Maner, passed away on Saturday. The U.S. Navy veteran served as president from 1975 to 2000, when he retired. Maner called it “the school without walls” and saw the school through opening its doors to credit program students in 1976 when they leased buildings, to officially opening the newly constructed campus in the fall of 1994.

Manner leaves behind his wife, daughter, son in law, and three grandchildren. He was 87.
