Salisbury University welcomes new president

The new President for the University of Salisbury was introduced to the community on Friday, May 4.
Dr. Charles Wight is the ninth president for the university, and he said he is excited to connect with students.
"I look forward to having a great time being the president of Salisbury University," said Wight.
"This institution serves regional and local needs, and it's a leader in its community," he said.
The new president also said that his first task is to have a listening tour and talk to students and faculty about what they want to see at the university.
One of his main goals is to help students become even more successful in their communities.
Wight also thanked Dr. Janet Dudley-Esbach for her 18 years of service to the university, and said he hopes the university continues to be culturally and linguistically competent for the entire community.
