Yumi Hogan art exhibit opens to public

The Ocean City Art League opened Yumi Hogan's art exhibit featured in the Thaler Gallery Friday afternoon.

Her show, entitled “Nature’s Rhythmic Alliance,” features her abstract landscape paintings produced in Sumi ink on Korean Hanji paper, acrylic, and Asian techniques.

During her husband's year-long cancer battle, Yumi met many children affected by pediatric cancer.  Hogan will donate the proceeds from her art sales during this show to art therapy programs to help those affected children.

Rina Thaler, with the Art League of Ocean City says you can see the transformation in Hogan's art during the time when her husband was battling cancer.

"She began to add more color to her works, became more abstract in form.  And started adding some of the colors that are associated with different types of cancer, like pink for breast cancer, or green for lymphoma, which is what (Governor Hogan) had,"

Hogan's solo exhibit will be open to the public through August 26th.
