Over 6,000 bags of heroin found in Dover hotel drug bust

Police in Dover wrapped up a lengthy drug investigation with a record number of drugs found Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Dover Police Department, officers from the Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit, Safe Streets Unit, and Delaware Probation and Parole executed a search warrant at the First State Inn on North DuPont Highway, following an investigation into illegal drug sales by 28-year-old Darren Swiggett of Smyrna. During a search of the room, officer say they found 6,396 bags of heroin totaling 95.94 grams, $13,075 cash, ammunition, and marijuana.
Swiggett was reportedly arrested without incident and committed to JTVCC in default of $211,000 cash bond. He is being charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin, delivery of heroin, possession of ammunition by person prohibited, drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
