Hundreds rally to reopen Delaware
DOVER, Del. – Hundreds of Delawareans joined together outside Legislative Hall in Dover on Friday to protest the current statewide shutdown.
Protesters held signs in support of President Donald Trump, American flags, and messages to reopen the state. School seniors also joined the rally, holding signs that say “I want to graduate”, while other protesters pushed to quarantine the governor instead.
Protesters also held signs in Latin that said “Sic Semper Tyrannis”, meaning thus always to tyrants.
Governor Carney responded to the rally saying, “Certainly this is a great country, everybody has the right to express their opinion and folks are doing that. I guess I would have hoped that the protesters were more here to express their appreciation for what we’re doing, but obviously we hear and understand their opposition and their eagerness get back to work.”
