Del. senators urging Carney to ease restrictions on churches

DOVER, Del. – Two Delaware senators are urging Governor Carney to ease restrictions on churches during the pandemic.

On Thursday, senators Dave Lawson and Bryant Richardson requested that Carney reconsider the ban to gather in churches. In the letter, they say that religion is an important part of Delawareans lives and religious leaders should not fear getting arrested for helping others who are suffering in these trying times.

Although the senators say they understand the need to take health precautions now, they say religious leaders are just as concerned about the safety of their congregations.
