Brandywine Valley SPCA holding drive-thru pet food pantries
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Brandywine Valley SPCA will be holding two drive-thru pet food pantries later this week to help families in need.
Free pet food will be available at the following locations and times:
- Thursday, April 30th, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Sussex Academy, 21150 Airport Blvd Georgetown
- Friday, May 1st, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Rd Dover
Participants will remain in their vehicle while SPCA staff requests information on the household pets from a distance, then loads the pet food into the trunk or hatchback. Food will be available for cats and dogs while supplies last.
“The number of families suddenly without jobs is staggering,” said Adam Lamb, BVSPCA CEO. “They need their pets by their side now more than ever, and we’re going to make sure they don’t have to give them up to a shelter simply because they can’t afford food.”
