Kolakowski’s Gem Paces Easton Past Bucs

The Easton softball team picked up anther win Friday night when they defeated Kent Island 13-1. Joy Kolakowski paced the Warriors toeing the rubber, and helped improve the them to 2-0, while the loss drops the Bucs to 0-2.

Kolakowski would be on her game early on, keeping the Bucs offense at bay with several strike outs, while also showing the ability to induce ground balls and rely on her defense. The Warriors would then be able to grab the lead after Kate Miles hit an RBI single to center to Cami Lyons. Shortly after that, Lexie Kettering would hit sac fly to give Kolakowski some early run support. The Bucs then would have their first opportunity to score after they got a base knock by Alex Hall. She would eventually get to third before a a shot to center where she would tag up on. Cameron Foster though would show off her arm, gunning her down at the plate to preserve the lead. The bats kept it up from there as Easton road the momentum to the win.

Easton returns to work on Saturday when they travel to Chopticon, while Kent Island traveled to Queen Anne’s on Monday.
