Smith Deals As Mardela Wins 4th Straight

The Mardela baseball team kept their win streak going Friday when they traveled to Snow Hill and topped the eagles 5-0. Dylan Smith was dominate on the mound for the Warriors, pitching a complete game, 2-hitter with 10 strike outs as they improve to 4-1 on the season, and the Eagles fell to 4-2.

From the opening pitch, it was clear that Smith would have it going for the road team. His location was on, as he was also able to lean on the defense behind him to keep the Eagles batters uncomfortable in the box early. Mardela brought their bats too, as they were able to work the bases loaded early for a few good scoring opportunities. Zach Donway was able to work his way out of some early trouble for the Eagles, as he kept his team in it early. The Warriors eventually broke through though as Smith would help his own cause with a 2 RBI single, scoring Drew Owens and Ryan Teaman. Dylan Campbell then came up with a great defensive play for the Eagles, gunning a man down at the plate to save a run, but the bats never got going for Snow Hill as Smith would have himself a career day.

Snow Hill returns to action on Monday when they travel to Washington, while Mardela host Delmar on Monday.
