A local florist is lending their skills, in an effort to get some homeless shelter pets, into forever homes.

Worcester County Humane Society says they teamed up with Little Miss Lovely in West Ocean City, to help photograph the shelter dogs and cats, in an effort to help their true beauties shine through.

Ami Reist Jachimski, the creative presence behind Little Miss Lovely, apparently created ten different flower crowns and floral collars for the dogs and cats to wear during a photo shoot. The team then worked to photograph all of the dogs at the shelter, and several of the cats, getting gorgeous portraits, that they hope will help get the animals adopted.

“Many shelter dogs are thought to be harsh, violent, or riddled with issues,” says Jachimski. “The idea behind the flower crown photo shoot was to break that stereotype and create images of these dogs in a soft, more feminine, more lovable light.”

“Once the flower crowns and floral collars were placed on each dog, their personalities shined,” added Jachimski. “It was almost like the dogs were smiling at us because they were happy to be dressed up in fresh flowers. I genuinely think that these dogs and cats realized how special they were when they modeled the floral creations and had their photos taken.”
