Smyrna’s Softball Game Gets Called, and They Win big

Dover was hosting Smyrna Tuesday night in a match that saw the Eagles dominating from the start and eventually winning it after 5 innings, as the game was called, 17-0.
Smyrna scored 3 runs in the 1st and 4 runs in the 2nd to lead 7-0.
In the top of the 3rd they scored another to make it 8-0. Than in the next two innings they managed to notch in 9 more runs and end the game on the mercy rule after five innings.
Dover was able to make some solid defensive stops to wit hold more runners from scoring, but ultimately it did not matter in the end.
Smyrna is back in action Thursday as they host Laurel. Dover will have a chance for redemption as they travel to Seaford on Friday.
