abc’s colin bradley was at the ribbon cutting ceremony today and shows us all the new bells and whistles. after two years of construction – and many more of planning – salisbury university’s long anticipated sea gull stadium is finally finished. but this ending gives way to a new beginning – by way of a fancy pair of scissors. natural sound president janet dudley-eshbach kicked off the ceremony – thanking the coaches and players for all they’ve endured. 02.20.30 they worked with that old crummy cinderblock building – and during construction even used a maintenance shed as a makeshift locker room 02.20.41 and for those coaches who endured it with their athletes the towering 19 million dollar facility – raised from the site of the old field – did more than lift their spirits. 02.36.46 this is amazing – i have chills talking about it – its amazing 02.36.49 butt sot 02.32.35 i’ts unbelievable – we’re all so excited 02.32.37 butt sot 02.33.42 everyone is just so excited it’s jaw dropping 02.33.45 complete with a top of the line athletic training room — 5-thousand seats for spectators — and 5 new guest suites — it’s clear that everyone at s-u is on cloud nine over the upgrades. but what everyone admits they’re hoping the opening of this state of the art facility will do — is help the sea gulls step up their game. 02.38.58 we were kind of falling behind a little bit and in terms of facilities and upgrades and so forth and compared to a lot of teams in our conference – and nationally and this is certainly going to catapult us to the top 02.39.08 the stadium features brand new locker rooms for lacrosse – field hockey – and football teams. nearly 200 tons of steel make up the new digs for the sea gulls – but preside dudley-eshbach says there is a lot more digging to be done. 02.25.32 this is just one step in a long list of sorely needed changes included in our master plan for enhancing all of east campus 2.25.43 the men’s lacrosse team — and their fans — will be the first to break in the new stadium on saturday. colin bradley – 47abc the next part of s-u’s master plan will begin with the demolition of the softball stadium after the season is over. a
