Two flown to hospital after Whaleyville crash

According to Maryland State Police, two women have been flown to PRMC with injuries following a single car crash in Whaleyville.
Police say they responded to the 7500 block of Old Ocean City Rd. around 10:30 a.m. after a Chevy Cobalt went off the roadway and struck a DP & L pole. We’re told authorities found two women, a driver (29 y/o) and her passenger (31 y/o) trapped inside the car.
Crews were reportedly able to extract the women.
Police tell 47 ABC that witness accounts of the crash described the car began to swerve for unknown reasons before heading off-road.
Police say that the roadway is open while crews repair the pole. The State Highway Administration says Md. 346 (Old Ocean City Rd) between Bell Rd and Md. 610 (Whaleyville Rd) will be closed for several hours during repairs.
MSP says the driver has been charged with negligent driving.
