Cambridge woman charged with robbery

A Cambridge woman has been charged, after Police say she stole cash from a local market.

Cambridge Police say on April 1, a woman walked into the store, and tried to grab money from the cash register at the Tienda Mexicana Velasq on Race Street. During the incident, Police say the clerk struggled with the suspect, in an attempt to get the cash back.

According to the report, during the altercation, the suspect starting reaching for a pocket knife that she had on her, before she was able to run from the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

On Friday, Cambridge Police say their investigation identified the suspect as 46-year-old Denise Maslow, of Cambridge. She was then arrested, and charged with robbery, assault second degree, and theft less than $1,000.

She was then ordered to be held at the Dorchester County Detention Center on a $125,000 bond.
