Delaware State University Football Scrimmage

The Delaware State University Football team wrapped up their spring drills with a scrimmage that took place this past Saturday.

The Key story line was the development of quarterbacks, especially returner Kobie Lain, the sophomore. As of now he is splitting his time with Daniel Epperson who is a transfer from San Bernardino.

Two of the top returning running backs are sophomores Brycen Alleyne, and Kesselly Tyler.

The offensive line has a number of players who are veterans like Ernest Mengoni (center), Jerron Searles (tackle) , and Keon Williams who is fresh off an injury recovery.

The Defense also has some returners who made big plays last season. Javon Barnes was a huge asset as he has 23 tackles and a sack as a true freshman last season. Nick Nelson is another returner along with Kameron Rogers.

The secondary will have veteran corners William Burton and Gary Melton, while Woodbridge star Logan Wescott is returning as well after a breakout rookie season.

DSU opens their season Sept 1st against the University of Delaware, and their home opener is Sept 10th against Monmouth.
